Terry started his karting career in the 1960’s after a family tragedy persuaded him not to take up motorcycle racing. His talent was immediately obvious and in his debut season the young Londoner won the 1966 British Junior Championship. He went on to win the title in the following two seasons, creating history as he did so.

In the 1970’s Fullerton turned his attentions to international competition. In 1973 he was crowned RAC British, CIK. FIA European and World Champion. Victory after victory followed, with Terry winning races across the globe.

In 1978 he was in his prime and the official factory driver for the british Zip Kart chassis manufacturer and Italian engine manufacturer DAP. It was in this year that a precociously talented young Brazilian joined him and then began the famous rivalry between Senna & Fullerton which was to last for the next three years.

After retiring in 1984 Terry became a team owner and leading kart manufacturer, thus starting to develop the talents of drivers competing under his name. As the likes of Allan McNish, Ralph Firman, Daniel Wheldon and Anthony Davidson reached the pinnacles of single-seater racing, Terrys reputation for helping talented teenage karters to achieve their maximum potential was sealed.

Ayrton Senna on Fullerton
(Adelaide 1993).

........"I came to Europe for the first time, to compete outside of a team mate to Fullerton, Terry Fullerton. He was very experienced and I enjoyed very much driving with him because he was fast, he was consistent. He was for me a very complete driver. And it was pure driving, pure racing. I have that as a very good memory".

Danny Wheldon (multiple British Kart Champion, CIK. FIA world cup winner and European Championship final winner x 4) this quote in 2006.

........"I am still very passionate about karting. Terry was very good technically with the kart and as a driver what you needed to be doing to be fast. I could be on the phone all day telling you what he taught me. He is the best in the business in terms of getting the best out of a driver".

Mike Wilson (6 times World Kart Champion) on Fullerton (2011).

........"Terry is the person I would have chosen to run and coach my own son if he had wanted to race. He is simply the best and most experienced in the business."
